老實説，去年 ( 08' )是藍鳥實力上最接近基襪的一次，但是卻被 John Gibbons 搞砸了，去年的失敗在於打線不濟，但是卻是最有機會成功的一年，如果當時成功也許後來的情況真的完全不同。自從 Gibbons 被解雇開始，藍鳥的管理階層到目前一直處在動盪不安的狀態:

1. 去年 Ricciardi 宣佈 Gaston 連任時，自己卻不確定是否會被解約
The fact that Ricciardi -- his own status up in the air at the time, as it remains -- made the claim with such certainty seemed odd. Now, as this trying season winds down for the Blue Jays, Gaston believes this final homestand could include an announcement about his contract going forward.

2. 依據 Gaston 的要求，留下全部的教練團 但是 Cito's Wishlist 就無法照辦

When told of Cito's comments, Ricciardi shook his head and laughed.

"Our manager shoudn't be talking about players that are playing for other teams," he said with a chuckle. "We'll see. We'll see what the market bears. We'll see what we can do. Our first priority will be to try to get A.J. to see if we can keep him here.

"I think things will build off that. If we get him, then we can do other things. If we can't, then we'll try other things."

3. 在爭取 Burnett 留下來的同時， CEO Godfrey 提出辭呈

5. 經濟風暴對加拿大幣值的影響 與 牌告匯率
PS: 最近藍鳥剛以 over-slot 9K 簽下今年的第 1 輪選秀 Chad Jenkins ，雖然關於匯率的問題我不懂，但是這個約以加拿大與美國的稅差或匯率差特性而言，應該不算是 over-slot ，畢竟以個體合約而言不差那個 9K ，這個現象應該是藍鳥特有的，藍鳥的第 1 個 over-slot 應該會產生在 James Paxton

6. Ricciardi 說:續簽 Burnett 列為優先，如果不成不再多花錢

7. 傳出 2/3 的 Jays' front office sales staff 即將被解雇

從去年某一個時期開始，藍鳥 GM Ricciardi 所有的用語都採用不確定的語氣，這代表連他自己也不知道球隊的未來

補充一些其他我目前找不到來源的資訊:
1. 目前 CEO 還沒找到，但是 Beeston 說快要決定了，目前對象全部指向國民隊的 President Stan Kasten
2. 去年到現在這一段時間，Ricciardi 多次表示連他自己也不知道計畫如何做，預算是多少?
3. 藍鳥球團的繼承人確定是 Ted Rogers III

這一段時間藍鳥球團的高層一直無法確定是最大的問題點，Ricciardi 對他自己是否能夠繼續擔任 GM 也無法確定，他的合約即將於 10' 到期，未來的一切目前都是未知，這就是這一段時間球團一些奇怪的言語出現的主因。
