2008 年球季是藍鳥進行重整的一個重大轉捩點，這一段時期 J.P. Ricciardi 開始出現想要保住他的職務卻又不適當的發言， Halladay 也發表希望被交易到有競爭球隊的想法，在這一年藍鳥高階管理體系先出現重大調整，President and CEO Paul Godfrey 下台， Paul Beeston 被找回暫代他的職務，並於隔年真除。
Paul Beeston 也曾經在 1989–1997 時期擔任同樣的職務，這一段時間藍鳥的 GM 有兩位，一位是奠定藍鳥基礎也是名人堂 GM 的 Pat Gillick (1987-1994)，另外一位是加拿大籍的 Gord Ash (1995-2001)，主要 manager 就是 Cito Gaston(1989-1997)，而在年底 Beeston 回鍋之前，藍鳥已先行於年初找回 92-93 光榮時期的 Cito Gaston。
上任之後的一些重要談話:
"It's a possibility," Beeston said. "We can spend $100 million, but if it doesn't make sense, why do it?">
"That's the goal, but that may not be as quick as everybody thinks," Beeston said. "You just can't go out and spend money and get to the postseason. You have to go spend money wisely and you have to build wisely. I think that it's fair to say that, while we would like to be there sooner rather than later, we're not going to put a timeline on it.
對於 Yunel Escobar 的 “Tu ere maricon”事件他說 "I'm actually pissed off."
Pat Gillick 對他的看法: “I don’t think [Beeston] got into judging [baseball] talent,” he says. “He got into judging personalities and makeup. He was very good about evaluating people. He could meet people for the first time and make a quick judgment not only from a business standpoint but from a baseball standpoint if they fit.”取自 The second coming

於 09' 聘任年輕的加拿大 GM Alex Anthopoulos 之後，開始了藍鳥整個重整的計畫，期間依據 Alex Anthopoulos 的建議大幅增加球探人數，並改善球探的一些福利，另外也大力提拔加拿大人 Andrew Tinnish ( 從 Director, Minor League Operations 到 Assistant General Manager )
